ABOUT ME

JAMES III is an actor and writer from Akron, Ohio, currently writing on Nickelodeon’s “All That” and with the comedy team, Astronomy Club, he wrote, co-executive produced, and stars in their self-titled show for Netflix premiering in December 2019.

James was a Staff Writer on Season 3 of TruTV's "Adam Ruins Everything", a 2018 JFL New Faces Characters performer, writer/performer in the 2018 CBS Diversity Showcase, and co-recipient of the 2017 NBC/UCBT Diversity Scholarship. He has also appeared in shows on HBO, NBC, TBS, BET, TruTV, Netflix, and Comedy Central. James developed digital content for Comedy Central, Fusion Network, and written for Funny or Die. He has written and performed four solo shows, "Junior", "3rd Impressions", "think we kissed, but i forgot...", and "The Black Friend in a White Show". 

He is a founding member of Astronomy Club and co-hosts the podcast, Black Men Can't Jump [In Hollywood]. With the hosts of BMCJ, he developed a series with IFC and created content for Comedy Central Digital and Seriously.TV. Astronomy Club has a digital sketch series with Comedy Central, was named NYCF/Comedy Central Sketch Comics To Watch 2016 and is one of Vulture’s “Comedians You Should and Will Know” 2018.

James performs monthly in “Characters Welcome” at the UCB Theatre in LA. And co-hosts the nostalgia variety show “Late Fees” around Los Angeles.
