JAMES III is a comedian, writer, and director from Akron, Ohio working in TV, film, and comics.
His credits include writing for and voicing roles in GOOD BURGER 2, FAIRLY ODDPARENTS: A NEW WISH, the ALL THAT reboot, and HUMAN RESOURCES. James has appeared ABBOTT ELEMENTARY, A BLACK LADY SKETCH SHOW, I THINK YOU SHOULD LEAVE, and BLACK MIRROR. His directorial debut short film, DAY OF THE DAD, premiered at Nightmares Film Festival 2025 where it was nominated for Best Horror Comedy Short and James received a Best Lead Performance nomination.
With his comedy partners, James co-created, co-executive produced, and starred in Netflix’s ASTRONOMY CLUB: THE SKETCH SHOW produced by Kenya Barris and co-hosts the podcast BLACK MEN CAN’T JUMP [IN HOLLYWOOD] which has been featured on Good Morning America, Time, and Forbes.
As a comics writer, James has written for Dynamite Entertainment, Archie Comics, and Papercutz, including Disney’s ALADDIN series, Disney’s STITCH series, and THE POWERPUFF GIRLS SUPERVILLAIN SUMMER SPECTACULAR one-shot.
James is the founder of the comic book and media production company, Rule of III, Inc.
